Hi, Do you remember the software you use to burn the disk? How did you try to do the raw copy? Posted 31 October - PM. Posted 01 November - PM.

Thanks to all for the input! But I am sincerly thaknful for this great forum and to those who helped me solve this, and especially SleepyDude Those unreadable CDs bothered me every time I saw them.

Now I can toss them. Posted 02 November - AM. I've tried burning UDF discs several times and every time CDBXP tells me the disc has been burned successful; I even ran verification test after burning but the created discs are unreadable.

I tested reading the discs under Win XP x86, Vista x64 and Win 7 x64 but they all state that the discs are corrupt. When CDBX asks me, whether to finalize disc or not, I choose "advanced settings" not sure if translation is correct, as I use the german translation.

I set session type to Disc-at-once also tested it with the other option , activate "finalize disk" and in addition "check disk after burning". After the process is finished, I try to read the CD, but the disk is shown to be defect, though the data seems to be on the disk and the medium is finalized. Anybody an idea what's the problem here? When I check myself the disc in the Windows Explorer, some folders are missing, but the disc properties reports that the total size match the total size of the files which I wanted to burn.

All the three Blu-ray for three different compilations that I burn today ends up with this same error. I guess the problem is related to different versions of the UDF filesystem itself, as not all OSes support the same UDF version and even if they do, they don't support all partion types physical, virtual, spare :. So there shouldn't even be a problem with Win XP?!

Nero regulary uses UDF 1. Ok, as things still bother me, I have made some further testing on burning UDF disks. And just to emphasize - I'm talking about writing UDF to a dvd disk! While I appreciate your efforts, I cannot do anything to fix this issue currently. If you're lucky, an updated version of the Numedia library viewtopic. Thanks for your reply, Flo. I've tested the new third party library, but it doesn't solve the issue. The command line version uses a more current UDf version, which may not be readable in the main application.

Does not provide a fast crash recovery mechanism. As the size of the media increases, crash recovery becomes more and more important. Full disc scan before mount becomes less feasible on slow optical media with tens of gigabytes space.

Although an implementation may use a journal to protect metadata integrity, this does not guarantee interoperability between platforms since it is not part of the standard.

As device gets bigger and bigger, compression is not that important. However, encryption may become more compelling since UDF is mainly used on removable media. Becomes more and more complex.

UDF 2. File system metadata are clustered within the metadata partition so that they can be accessed quickly. Optionally, a mirror of the metadata partition could be duplicated to provide better robustness in a big cost of performance. This adds non-trivial complexity to the file system.
