Joined Nov 30, Messages 1. I have searched and read through many posts here and other places and have not been able to find anything about this problem specifically. If I have missed a relevant post that you know of, please let me know. Here's the problem: Very frequently, though not always, when I try to shutdown or restart windows I get a series of "program not responding dialogs. Then I get two more "program not responding dialogs": "ctfmon. Or perhaps the problem is with McAfee Virus Scanner, since the first two program are associated with it.

Or maybe the problem has to do with something else entirely and these are just symptoms. Any advice on how to solve or troubleshoot this problem would be greatly appreciated.
